How- to lockpicking and repairing “Kool” doors in Dee

Dee has Kool doors.  What does that mean?  It means there is a menu that pops up so you can choose your option.  These doors are on faction buildings, cells and city walls.  It is easy to “break” into, but should you?  Here’s some guidelines to follow when breaking into a “Kool Door”

For the sake of reference, lockpick is the term we will use which means “to gain entrance beyond this barrier”.  Dee has several types of “barriers” with the Kool lockpick scripts installed.  When you choose to “lockpick” a door, you are going to roleplay the manner in which you get past the barrier and roleplay that out.

((If a door has been broken into and no information forwarded to the faction, it will be assumed that it was done by a “tourist” and may be repaired without the RP.  If someone within the RP of Dee breaks in and doesn’t send the RP notecard to the faction, the RP is invalid.))

Lock-Pick A Door

ONLY RULE :       WE  DO NEED TO ROLEPLAY it
It is invalid to lock-pick doors “just because” it can be done.

– we need tools in order to “pick a lock”.
– RP getting those tools.
– have at least one other player near as witness while lockpicking.
– have a damn good IC reason for wanting to open THAT door

Send a CHAT LOG of getting the tool and picking the lock including the REASON FOR opening the door to the Faction Lead.

If you don’t know how to make a notecard / log chat, ask someone to explain to you.

The faction lead will NEVER use the the ooc knowledge about reason and who opened the doors for their IC advantage!  They may use info in your log that are visible clues left behind other than the obvious fact that the door is broken.  For instance if you lost your shoe, dropped something, scarred up the door jamb, etc.

Repairing a Door

ONLY RULE:    WE DO NEED A VALID IC REASON WHY OUR CHARACTER HAS AN INTEREST IN REPAIRING THAT VERY DOOR
It is invalid to repair doors “just because” it can be done.

– we need tools/material in order to repair a lock
– get those tools/material. RP it … move there, interact with someone or something to get them
– have at least one other player near as witness while repairing.
– and again: have a DAMN GOOD reason for repairing THAT door..

Send a CHAT LOG of getting the tool and repairing  the door  including the REASON FOR REPAIRING that very door to the Faction Lead.
If you don’t know how to make a notecard / log chat, ask someone to explain to you.
