The Framework

THE FRAMEWORK OF THE STORY

It’s the 1400’s,

The Tudor Dynasty has just wrested the throne from the The House of Plantagenet after a bitter civil war which lasted more than 30 years. On the Forgotten Isle of Dee, located somewhere in the Celtic Sea, conflict still rages.

An older and more traditional conflict.

Because on Dee, creatures and races, long vanished from the mainland, still exist. Creatures that a cynical man consigns to folktale and imagination. And so the ancient battle between the old races and the new continue, each struggling to survive and rule this forgotten land. A conflict that has long been erased from the memories of those who live in the lands just over the seas. Man remembers them only in tales to tell children on dark stormy nights. And all seek, as all creatures do, to hold on to that which they hold dear, or take what they desire from another. When races are so different from each other, their goals and ambitions so diverse, that can mean trouble!

Travellers who come to Dee find themselves struggling through the fog. Ships are often lost. Rowboats and sometimes survivors of wrecks make their way through, and those who have gained the favour of the land itself.

Humans live their daily lives alongside the magical creatures , in this land where the borders of mythology and mortality are blurred, and strange alliances are necessary to keep the dark beings that strive to claim power at bay.

ROLEPLAYING A CHARACTER IN DEE

Whether you are permanent, part time or guest player at the Isle of Dee , your race and appearance must fit the theme and style of the SIM. The Isle of Dee is based on a fictional English Medieval Isle with European history, myth and legends in a time period considered to be loosely ‘Tudor’ or ‘Medieval’, so clothing and any objects brought into the roleplay should be appropriate to that era. Your character should fit this framework, and be played in a way others will find believable.

DEE CREATURES
are those that filled the imaginations of medieval European folk.

Important to note:
A lot of races found in modern RPG’s, or graphic novels, are NOT originally European.

Use Your Imagination;
Often a tiny change of word or detail can make a race fit, without you loosing anything, but winning oh so much.

Your character
must fit our framework, and be played in a way others will find believable. Use of magic must be played within the story of the Isle. This applies also to any ‘super’ abilities your character may wish to have.

HALF HALF QUARTER WHATEVER RACE MIXES
Just try to stay realistic to not appear like a dork.
( Many races would be just too proud to mix breed , others cannot and demons and vampires can not reproduce )

BASIC RACES

ALSO ACCEPTABLE:

  •         Demon – You are a Unseelie.
  •         Humans that have the Vampire curse
  •         All Races that you find in Norse (Scandinavian) , Celtic and Greek Mythology
  •         Your own race or special ability idea that fits the theme

ITS CHARACTERS WE PLAY; NOT GODS

Characters found to use a lot of scripts, or otherwise cause lag, will be asked to change in order to keep the sim running smoothly.

If you do not own any appropriate attire, there are freebie medieval outfits in the Lobby and much more available for purchase in the Market.

The grandfathered rule ran  out with 1st of August 2012.

PROHIBITED CHARACTERS
NOT acceptable and not open to discussion:

PROHIBITED RP CHARACTERS

In case you wish to bring your experienced over time developed medieval character to Dee, you will have to adapt to our framework. It is valid to use the Chaotic Dee magic as reason for loosing parts that don’t fit and add parts that do fit.
If you lack creativity, consider another MMOPRG
Please note that we, since Dee is a private sim, paid from our pockets,  thus we reserve the right to change this list, or the details of any of the characters, at any time.
